Jesus Brings Peace

Hello - It’s time someone told you the truth.

These are not the best years of your life. Have you ever had someone tell you that your teenage years are the best years of your life? Well, they were either confused, lying, or trying to cheer you up. You see, your teenage years are not the best years of your life. They just may be the toughest years - although the rest of life is no cake walk. Sure, you don’t have to worry about house payments, car payments, putting food in the fridge, paying for your kid’s college, and your own retirement. But that doesn't mean life for you is all fun and games. It’s tough growing into an adult. So don’t worry when you feel alone, unloved, awkward, friendless, and depressed. It’s all a part of what we call humanity.

All humans have their bad days, week, even years. That’s OK. We don’t have to be “partying” all the time. Sometimes we are just OK. There is a lot of pressure on you to “feel great” all the time. Well that is a LIE. No one feels great ALL the time. It is a physical and emotional impossibility. I hope this doesn’t depress you. I wish someone would have told me this when I was your age. Too many people live their lives thinking that they are supposed to be happy all the time. Then when they are not happy they feel like something is wrong and they often turn to other things to get happy. Things like alcohol, drugs, sex, friends, money, grades, success, sports, cars, stereos, and other material things.

These things will NOT solve your problem. Only one thing will: Jesus. I know, I know your thinking: “Yeah, right!” Well it’s the truth. BUT you must know this: Jesus will NOT bring you happiness all the time. No, He actually gives you something better than happiness. PEACE! Yes, peace is better than happiness. This is because you can be peaceful even when you’re not happy. Sound impossible? Give Jesus a try. Ask Jesus to be the center of your life. Try to live like He is the center of your life. Spend time praying and reading the bible. Try this for seven days and you will be more peaceful. I Guarantee it! (Just like the guy from the Men’s Warehouse.) Jesus has peace beyond your understanding (Phil. 4:7). The best years of your life are not now, they are actually in heaven. Until then Jesus gives us His peace.
