Unwrap Jesus

Hello - Presents!!! give me some and give me a lot of them. That’s what CHRISTmas is all about... right?

Well, it actually is all about gifts. Well, actually about a particular GIFT. Did you ever wonder why we give presents to each other at CHRISTmas? I don’ t know the real reason, but think about this: e Jesus is the greatest gift ever given to anyone. e He was given to everyone. e He was given by the greatest giver of all time. So, maybe we give gifts in honor of God giving us the gift of His Son. Even if this is not the real reason, let’s make it the reason. Because CHRISTmas IS NOT ABOUT GETTING STUFF. It ’s about Jesus. With every gift you receive and give, think about Jesus.

Every time you see a present under a tree think of Jesus. Every time you open a gift think about Jesus. Are you getting this? But that’s not enough. God didn’t give us His Son and that was the end. That would be like putting all the gifts under the tree and leaving them there forever. We have to open the gift to receive the blessing of it. AND we have to “open” the gift of Jesus to receive the blessing of Him. How do we do this? Well, He is not in wrapping paper, but we still have to open something. What we open is our heart. We open our heart and let Jesus in and then we receive the blessing of CHRISTmas. All the STUFF is nice, but if all you get is stuff and your faith is not enriched by the CHRISTmas season then STOP celebrating it. Jesus is the reason for CHRISTmas, not some materialistic mumbojumbo. Mumbojumbo is for the devil. We celebrate the Lord Jesus, the Word of God become flesh. Divine substance changed into human form. WOW! If that’s not what CHRISTmas means to you, give it some thought. This year unwrap the greatest gift of all -Jesus.
